Built for
the Ontario School Board market, Cardinal's Co op Writer was co-developed with
the Kawartha Pine Ridge and Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Clarington Catholic School Boards.
Stability:
An extensive
set of profiles and parameters allows the Co op Writer to be customized
to suit each board’s unique requirements without the need for customized board-specific
coding. A single common Co op Writer version is maintained for all users.
SIS Integration:
A standard
set of profiles allow boards to map the location of the student data (via
ODBC connection strings). While student data is copied to the Co op Writer database to
ensure Co op Writer availability while student systems are down, data integrity is checked each time a
teacher logs into the system.
Content
The IEP
Writer is equipped with a complete curriculum database, derived from the Ministry of Education.
Board specific course codes and expectation statements can be added to satisfy all board’s
unique requirements.
The Co op Writer comes equipped
with comprehensive expectations, demonstrations of
learning, rich tasks, accommodations and more
in reference tables that can be maintained and expanded
by the board.
A copy of the National
Occupation Classification (NOC) database is also included to aid teachers with
employer expectations by providing access to job descriptions and job duties for every occupation in Canada.
Secure
Collaboration
A complete security
system ensures users have access to what they need and how
they need it. Teachers have access to the students in their
school as well as the ability to share information regarding
employers in their geographical reagions. Teachers can
access learning plans that have already been created
for students within their school to use as a starting point for their own student's learning plans. Through the optional student
portal, teachers have the ability to include their students in the creation of the expectations or demonstrations of learning for the student's
placement. Teachers can also provide a method for students to enter their hours, attendance and journal entries through the student portal.
Printing & Reporting
All printed output is
branded to reflect each board's individual look and
feel. Board specific Form letters, certificates and
addendums
can be added to the addendum profile by the board to produce any
form letters that the Co op teachers require. Through an internal connection with OYAP, reports
can be generated at the board level to show such things as the number of students
in each trade by grade and gender.
