Card inal Software’s Intelligent Form software component, PlanetPress Suite, is in use in over 29 Ontario District School Boards (with many more on the horizon). This solution is providing variable data output solutions from a wide array of board applications including IPPS, SAS, BAS and JD Edwards through multiple distribution methods including remote printing, email and fax. Many boards have adopted the archive solution to store key documents in PDF format, making use of the powerful search engine, PlanetPress Search—an Adobe plug-in.

Initially implemented in Ontario School Boards to replace continuous fed accounts payable cheques with an intuitive laser cheque solution, the use of PlanetPress has quickly exploded to include other applications. Purchase orders, invoices, payroll advice notices, report cards and transcriptions are now delivered to school board employees, schools, suppliers and parents by way of PlanetPress Suite which includes a powerful fax, and email delivery component.

Recognizing the value in sharing information, Cardinal has organized the first PlanetPress Users Group meeting to be held on Monday June 10 at the 2002 ECNO Conference in Alliston, Ontario. The tentative agenda includes

During the meeting, we will discuss the value in forming a PlanetPress Product Advisory Committee and if applicable, appoint representatives from the user community to the committee. Modeled after ECNO’s successful Product Advisory Committees (PACs), the committee would facilitate solution sharing, new ideas, future application trends and problem solving. It would also serve as a central, common voice for requesting product enhancement from the manufacturer, Objectif Lune who are committed to and supportive of a PAC initiative.
