| Originally designed for Windows 95, RPM 9x has been enhanced and updated to support the latest versions of Windows home platforms, including Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Edition. Windows XP Home Edition is not supported by RPM 9x since it is a Windows NT-based platform. |

| Once licensed, RPM 9x supports printing to 24 printers; however, if required, this limit can be increased up to 249. RPM does not limit the number of print queues; the limit refers only to the number of Windows printers. |

| RPM 9x installs as a standard Windows application, requiring a user to be logged-on in order for RPM to receive and print incoming data. RPM 9x can be started manually, through a shortcut in the Startup folder, or can be configured to start automatically in the Windows registry. |

RPM Select is fully integrated with Windows security. System administrators can control access to RPM through the "DCOM Configuration" utility in Windows. Configuration changes can be controlled using the Windows Registry (Regedt32.exe) and incoming print jobs can be secured with the NTFS file system. |

| RPM 9x can run completely hidden from users through the Complete Hide option. Initially, the RPM icon is displayed in the Windows task tray, but may be completely "hidden" from users, reducing interference or modification of the RPM configuration. |

RPM Select controls the processing in filter queues with a delay between executing filter programs. The delay reduces impact on users currently logged into the workstation allowing the user to continue working without interruption. Users' work is less affected by processor or memory intensive applications that may be called from a filter queue, such as Microsoft Word or Access. |

To facilitate custom integration with other applications, RPM Elite provides an external COM interface to give integrators unlimited customizing possibilities. Using this interface, developers can create applications to perform additional processing on print data. Interfaces are also provided so that events and job status can be passed back to RPM. |
